A World-First by Intertek and Exolum

Intertek and Exolum achieved a global first by safely storing and transporting green hydrogen using existing infrastructure at Immingham, UK. The project, funded by Innovate UK, proved that Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) can move hydrogen efficiently through standard pipelines and tanks, eliminating the need for high-pressure or underground storage.

Intertek’s experts verified quality, safety, and compliance at every stage, ensuring reliable performance and scalable results. This breakthrough offers a cost-effective, practical pathway toward large-scale hydrogen adoption and a faster net-zero transition.
